Joseph Fritz

PhD, CMPE​

Joseph Fritz has devoted his career to supporting accessible healthcare and value based neurologic care. He co-founded the Neurology Practice Consortium of large geographically distributed community practice (2009), and subsequently NeuroNetGPO (2017) and NeuroNetPro (2019) to improve the sustainability of neurology private practices. He is currently a strategic advisor to the Dent Neurologic Institute, which as CEO from 2008-2023, he helped grow to become among the largest outpatient neurology centers in the US. In 2019, he was recognized by Buffalo Business First for his C-level accomplishments. Dr. Fritz was also Chair of the Western New York Population Health Collaborative, which in 2023 he formally integrated into the HEALTHeLink (HeL) health information exchange as a means to implement a data driven approach to addressing racial disparities. Subsequently, Dr. Fritz became a committee member of the HeL Regional Health Improvement Committee, and an officer of the partnering Buffalo Center for Health Equity, a non-profit focused on addressing root causes for inequities. An imaging scientist and biomarker specialist by training, he is currently President of the American Society of Neuroimaging, with the goal to enable neurology providers, technologists, scientists and ancillary service teams to fully leverage neuroimaging in clinical practice and precision medicine. For over 15 years, Dr. Fritz has participated in a wide range committees within the American Academy of Neurology committees including Chair of the AAN’s Business Section, vice-chair of the Axon Registry Committee, co-chair of the APP Workgroup, and member of Practice, Medical Economics and Management, Payment Policy, Health Services Research Group, Imaging, and Practice Management and Technology Committees.
